I'm Nobody! Who Are You?
Published in School & Library Binding by Atheneum (March, 1974)
Average review score:

a classic from my junior high school daysI must have read this book six or seven times during my junior-high school years. I even have a picture of me with it! I so identified with the misfit, social outcast protagonist. I was so pleased to find a copy with the original library binding that I remembered. I don't know if Mary Anderson is still around, but I liked this book and "Step On A Crack" very much.

Impostors in the Temple: A Blueprint for Improving Higher Education in America (Hoover Institution Press Publication, No. 436)
Published in Paperback by Hoover Inst Pr (October, 1996)
Average review score:

Finally someone tells it like it is!I was extremely pleased to read such a well written and well researched analysis of the profound problems facing higher education in America. This book should be required reading for all boards of regents and those supervising policies at universities! Anyone supporting universities-which is all of us, in the case of public institutions-should read this book to understand what your (our) money is being used for. Rather than just pointing fingers, Anderson offers valuable suggestions that could really help improve our system.

In the Circle of Time

A Must Read for Fans of Stonehenge and Time TravelThis tale is a must for those of you out there who have always been curious about - and fascinated by - the mystery intimated by the existence of standing stones. Jennifer, an American girl attending school in Scotland, meets up with Robert, a native Scottish boy at the Circle of Arden, a collection of standing stones much like its more famous sibling, Stonehenge. Although they are drawn to this site for very different reasons, the sudden rolling in of a thick mist one grey dawn changes their lives forever. When the mist finally disperses, they find themselves in the future, a world far more "primitive" in some respects than our own, but perhaps more advanced in terms of its values (this you'll have to judge for yourself, but the characters and the issues are well developed and you'll have a lot to think about). The very coastlines have changed and great cities have crumbled to dust. Robert is slightly more prepared for this strange world; he has heard tales in the village of the mists suddenly coming down into the valley, with people mysteriously disappearing every once in a great while. His own mother wandered in among the stones as a small child and was found many hours later, safe, but wrapped in a strange, soft grey cloth. Jennifer is quick-witted and athletic, traits that come in handy when facing the perils of this "brave new world." What must they accomplish there? How are they to return to their own time? The answer to these questions can only be found In the Circle of Time.

In the Spirit of Fluxus
Published in Hardcover by Walker Art Center (March, 1993)
Average review score:

"Coffee cups can be more beautiful than fancy sculptures""Long long ago, back when the world was young-that is, sometime around 1958- a lot of artists and composers and other people who wanted to do beautiful things began to look at the world around them in a new way (for them)." In the spirit of Fluxus is a great starting point for exploring a time when Art still occurred in movements. Fluxus was an exciting, and for some, a confusing period that looked at the objects in front of them as Art objects and asked why isn't it Art, why isn't this music? It exclaimed that the sound of one's shoe tapping on the surface of a puddle makes beautiful music that people take for granted and overlook.
This book provides a complete picture of a generation of creating that forever changed the face of Art, and the way one views Art. Packed with full size pictures of performance stills, reproductions of actual printed pieces that were freely handed out like flyers and Art exibition photos, it sucked me in and actually made me look around and really see. It is a well written book that is easily accessible and an enjoyable read.
